Grider Hill Marina — now operating as Safe Harbor Grider Hill — is one of the most impressive and storied marinas on all of Lake Cumberland. Located near Albany in Clinton County, Kentucky, it sits on the deepest and most scenically dramatic stretch of the lake, where the water is cleaner, the coves are wilder, and the views are truly something special.

With nearly 70 years of history serving Lake Cumberland visitors, 311 acres of property, and 900 boat slips, Grider Hill is one of the largest full-service marina resorts on the lake. It offers houseboat rentals, pontoon rentals, on-site lodging, a Dockside Cafe, a ship’s store, fuel dock, and a massive party deck with open-air views across the water.

It’s worth noting that Grider Hill is not the closest marina to A-Frame of Mind — it’s located at the southern end of the lake, roughly an hour’s drive away. But for guests who want to explore the full length of Lake Cumberland, or experience what many consider its most breathtaking stretch, Grider Hill is absolutely worth the trip.

Houseboat Rentals

Grider Hill has long been one of the premier houseboat rental destinations on Lake Cumberland. Setting off from this end of the lake puts you in the deepest, most pristine water — perfect for anchoring in secluded coves and truly getting away from it all.

Pontoon Rentals

Daily pontoon rentals (9AM–5PM) are available for up to 10 passengers, with a 50-horsepower engine and partial hard-top covering. It’s one of the best ways to explore the southern arm of the lake — including a quick run to 76 Falls, a stunning waterfall just minutes away by boat.

76 Falls — Accessible by Boat

One of Lake Cumberland’s most iconic hidden gems, 76 Falls is a beautiful waterfall accessible only by boat — and Grider Hill is one of the closest marinas to it. Renting a pontoon from Grider Hill and cruising to the falls is one of the most memorable things you can do on the entire lake.

World-Class Fishing

The deep southern arm of Lake Cumberland around Grider Hill is loaded with striped bass, smallmouth, crappie, and bluegill. For serious anglers who want to fish the deepest, most productive water on the entire lake, this is the end to be on.
